Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Aviation Role Fit Calculator, a free, non-commercial research preview published by Data Nexus Technologies Services FZ-LLC. Please read them before using the tool.
Version: 1.0 · Effective: 13 August 2026 · Applies to: the Aviation Role Fit Calculator (beta) and these pages only
The short version, in plain language.
This is a free experiment. The numbers in it are produced by a model, not measured from real aviation jobs, and they have never been validated against anyone's actual job performance. Do not use them by themselves to decide anything about a real person — not hiring, not rejecting, not promoting, not rostering, not fitness for a safety-critical post. We provide the tool as is, we promise nothing about it, and we accept no liability for what happens if you rely on it. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not use the tool.
The sections below say the same thing at greater length and with the precision that a written term needs. Where the plain-language summaries on the calculator page differ from these Terms, these Terms govern.

2Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Tool you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Tool.
If you use the Tool on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on that organisation's behalf, and “you” includes that organisation.
These Terms do not create an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, consultancy or service relationship between you and Data Nexus, and do not oblige us to provide the Tool or any support for it.
3What the tool is
The Tool is a free, non-commercial research preview. It displays indicative behavioural benchmark ranges across eight parameters for a catalogue of civil aviation roles, read against a chosen organisational life-cycle stage. It is published so that people working in aviation human resources, training and safety can examine the approach, test it against their own experience and tell us where it is wrong.
The Tool is provided free of charge and is not, and will not be made, a paid product in this form. It is not part of, bundled with, or a component of any commercial NeuroFrame product or service, and using it gives you no rights in respect of any such product or service.
Provenance of the content. Role names, definitions and competency demands are drawn from publicly available aviation instruments — ICAO Annexes and Docs, IATA manuals and programmes, and EASA and FAA implementing rules — and are cited for identification. The behavioural benchmark ranges are our own model output. They are generated from the structure of each role's published competency demands and from an organisational life-cycle modifier. They are not derived from measurement of people performing those roles.
4What the tool is not
You acknowledge and accept each of the following.
- It is not an assessment, test or psychometric instrument. Entering values into the comparison panel does not assess, score, screen, rank or evaluate any person. It plots the values you typed against a modelled range.
- The ranges are not validated. They have not been subjected to criterion-related, content or construct validation against job performance in any airline, airport, air navigation service provider, maintenance organisation, regulator or other aviation organisation. No reliability, adverse-impact or fairness statistics are published for them, because none exist.
- It is not a determinant of legal eligibility. The ranges say nothing about whether any person holds, or is eligible to hold, the licence, rating, type endorsement, medical certificate, language proficiency level, security background check, competency check or nominated-person acceptance that a role requires. Those matters are determined exclusively by the competent authority and by the operator's approved procedures.
- It is not a safety tool. Nothing in the Tool forms part of a safety management system, a fatigue risk management system, a competency-based training and assessment programme, a compliance monitoring programme or any other regulated process, and nothing in it may be relied on to discharge any obligation under such a process.
- The life-cycle stage is your own judgement. The Tool does not determine, measure or verify which life-cycle stage an organisation is in. You choose it, and the output changes accordingly.
5Permitted and prohibited use
Permitted
You may use the Tool for your own information, for research, for internal discussion, and for evaluating the approach it demonstrates. You may share links to it and quote from it with attribution.
Prohibited
You must not, and must not permit any other person to:
- use the Tool, alone or as the determining factor, to make or support any decision affecting an identified or identifiable individual — including recruitment, selection, rejection, promotion, demotion, remuneration, assignment or removal from duties or rostering, disciplinary action, termination, or any determination of fitness for a safety-critical post;
- incorporate the Tool or its output into any hiring, assessment, performance-management, licensing, rostering, training or safety process, or into any automated or semi-automated decision system;
- present the Tool or its output to any third party as validated, certified, approved or endorsed, or as a NeuroFrame assessment result;
- state or imply that the Tool, Data Nexus or NeuroFrame is approved, accredited, recognised or endorsed by ICAO, IATA, EASA, the FAA, EUROCONTROL, any civil aviation authority, or the Adizes Institute;
- enter into the Tool any special-category or sensitive personal data, or any personal data you are not lawfully entitled to process;
- resell, sublicense, rent or otherwise commercialise the Tool or its output;
- scrape, bulk-extract, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the underlying model, ranges or dataset, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- use the Tool in breach of any applicable law, including employment, anti-discrimination and data protection law.
6No professional advice
The Tool and everything published with it are provided for general information only. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, medical, aeromedical, psychological, psychometric, occupational-health, human-resources, safety, airworthiness or any other professional advice, and must not be relied on as such. You should obtain appropriately qualified professional advice before acting on anything you see here.
7No warranty
The Tool is provided “as is” and “as available”.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Data Nexus makes no representations and gives no warranties, conditions, guarantees or undertakings of any kind in relation to the Tool, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including without limitation any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, validity, fitness for a particular purpose, satisfactory quality, merchantability, title, non-infringement, or that the Tool will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that the benchmark ranges, role descriptions, competency demands or source citations are accurate, current, complete or applicable to any particular organisation, jurisdiction or individual. Aviation instruments are amended frequently; the Tool may cite superseded provisions. You are responsible for verifying anything that matters to you against the official published source.
8Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. If any part of this section is held unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
- Data Nexus, its officers, employees, contractors and affiliates shall have no liability whatsoever to you or to any third party for any loss, cost, expense, claim, demand, fine, penalty, liability or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Tool, your use of or inability to use it, or any reliance placed on it or its output;
- this exclusion applies to direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary and punitive loss alike, and expressly includes loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or reputation, wasted expenditure, recruitment or replacement costs, litigation or regulatory costs, employment claims, and loss or corruption of data, whether or not foreseeable and whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, restitution or otherwise;
- if any liability of Data Nexus is nevertheless established, our aggregate liability in respect of all claims arising out of or in connection with the Tool shall not exceed United Arab Emirates Dirhams one thousand (AED 1,000). You acknowledge that the Tool is supplied free of charge and that this cap is reasonable in that context.
9Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Data Nexus, its officers, employees, contractors and affiliates against all claims, proceedings, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Tool in breach of these Terms, in particular any use of the Tool or its output in relation to a decision affecting an identified or identifiable individual.
10No endorsement by aviation bodies
Neither the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) nor the International Air Transport Association (IATA), nor the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), EUROCONTROL, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority or any other civil aviation authority or industry body, has reviewed, approved, validated, accredited, certified, recognised or endorsed the Tool, its behavioural ranges, NeuroFrame or Data Nexus. No such approval has been sought.
Documents published by those bodies are cited in the Tool solely to identify roles and to describe the competency demands those documents place on them. Citation of a document is not affiliation with, or approval by, its publisher. The Tool does not reproduce the text of those documents; for authoritative wording you must consult the official publications, which remain subject to their publishers' own copyright and licensing terms.
All names, titles, document numbers, acronyms and marks referred to — including ICAO, IATA, IGOM, AHM, ISAGO, IOSA, DGR, CEIV, EASA, FAA and EUROCONTROL — are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and reference only.
11Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Tool — including the behavioural model, the parameter framework, the life-cycle modifiers and safety floor, the role catalogue as compiled and structured, the text, the design and the code — are owned by or licensed to Data Nexus. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.
You may quote short extracts and link to the Tool for the purposes of comment, review, reporting and research, provided you attribute them to “NeuroFrame Aviation Role Fit Calculator, Data Nexus Technologies Services FZ-LLC” and do not present the extract as validated or endorsed.
“NeuroFrame” and the NeuroFrame logo are marks of Data Nexus. You may not use them without our prior written consent, except to refer accurately to the Tool.
12Third-party works and fair use
The five organisational life-cycle stages used in the Tool are identified by reference to the corporate life-cycle model set out by Dr Ichak Adizes in Corporate Lifecycles (1988) and Managing Corporate Lifecycles (1999), and to a number of similar studies in the organisational literature. That reference is made on the following basis.
Data Nexus is not affiliated with, licensed by, certified by or endorsed by Dr Ichak Adizes or the Adizes Institute, and they bear no responsibility for the Tool.
Notice and takedown. If you are a rights holder and consider that any element of the Tool exceeds fair use, nominative use or any other applicable exception, write to [email protected] identifying the material and the right relied on. We will review promptly and amend or remove the material where appropriate.
- The names “Adizes” and “Adizes Institute”, the Adizes corporate life-cycle model and related names and marks are the property of Dr Ichak Adizes and/or the Adizes Institute. They are referred to by name only to identify accurately the published framework the Tool discusses, adapts and comments on, and to credit its author. This is nominative and descriptive use.
- No text, diagram, figure, table or other protected expression from any Adizes work is reproduced in the Tool. The stage names are used as factual terminology identifying the framework.
- The stage descriptions, the mapping to eight behavioural parameters, the safety floor and all numerical output are the original work and commentary of Data Nexus. They are neither derived from nor reproduce Adizes content.
- The use is transformative and non-substitutive: the Tool discusses and adapts the framework for a different purpose — behavioural benchmarking in civil aviation — and does not replace, compete with or reduce demand for any Adizes book, course, certification or consulting service. Readers are directed to the original works.
- No Adizes logo, trade dress or certification mark is used, and nothing states or implies sponsorship, affiliation, licensing, certification or approval.
13Data and privacy
The comparison panel operates entirely within your browser. Values you enter are held in the page's memory for the duration of your visit and are not transmitted to, stored by, or logged by us. Closing or reloading the page discards them. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not require you to give us any personal data in order to use the Tool.
Where the Tool is hosted on a website operated by us or on our behalf, ordinary web-server and analytics processing may apply to your visit; that processing is described in the privacy notice published on that website, which applies in addition to these Terms.
14Automated decision-making
The Tool is not designed, offered or intended for use as an artificial intelligence system for recruitment, selection, promotion, task allocation, performance evaluation or the monitoring of workers, and must not be deployed for those purposes. Uses of that kind are regulated in a number of jurisdictions — including as high-risk systems under Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act), and under instruments such as New York City Local Law 144 — and would impose obligations on the deployer that the Tool does not and cannot satisfy. If you deploy the Tool for any such purpose, you do so in breach of section 5 and entirely at your own risk and responsibility.
15Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, restrict or withdraw the Tool, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or liability. We may amend these Terms at any time by publishing the amended version on this page with a new version number and effective date; your continued use after publication constitutes acceptance. There is no service level, no uptime commitment and no support obligation. You should not build any process or system that depends on the Tool remaining available or unchanged.
16Feedback
We invite comment and correction. If you send us feedback, suggestions, corrections or ideas about the Tool, you grant Data Nexus a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use them for any purpose without obligation, attribution or compensation, and you confirm that you are entitled to provide them. Do not send us anything you regard as confidential, and do not send us personal data about other people.
17Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, the Tool or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes and claims) are governed by, and shall be construed in accordance with, the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, together with the rules and regulations of the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone Authority applicable to Data Nexus.
The courts of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim, subject to any dispute resolution mechanism that RAKEZ rules mandate for entities licensed by it.
18General
- Entire agreement. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Data Nexus in relation to the Tool and supersede all prior statements about it. The plain-language summaries shown on the calculator page are provided for convenience; in the event of any inconsistency, these Terms prevail.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- No waiver. No failure or delay in exercising any right constitutes a waiver of it.
- Third-party rights. No person other than you and Data Nexus has any right to enforce these Terms.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours to an affiliate or successor.
- Survival. Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18 survive any cessation of your use of the Tool.
- Language. These Terms are published in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only, and the English version prevails in the event of conflict, save where applicable UAE law requires otherwise.
